Privacy Policy

Sunbeam Editor is an iOS photo editing app developed by Kevin Manka ("Sunbeam Editor," "Sunbeam," "we," "us," or "our"). Sunbeam Editor is designed to keep your photos and editing activity private.

Data Sunbeam Editor Collects

Sunbeam Editor does not collect personal data or usage data from the app.

In particular, we do not:

  • require or provide user accounts;
  • operate servers that receive your photos, videos, photo metadata, edits, or app activity;
  • use analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking technologies;
  • collect device identifiers, diagnostics, or location data; or
  • sell, rent, or share personal data with data brokers or advertisers.

Photo Library Access and On-Device Processing

With your permission, Sunbeam Editor accesses the photos, videos, and associated metadata in the portion of your Apple Photos library that you authorize. This access is used only to let you browse, view, edit, organize, and export your photos.

Photo editing and rendering are performed on your device. Sunbeam Editor does not upload your photos or videos to servers operated by us. When you export or share an edited image, it is sent only to the destination you choose through iOS.

Some photos may contain metadata such as camera information, creation date, or the location where the photo was taken. Sunbeam Editor may display this metadata and, at your direction, include or remove supported metadata when exporting. Sunbeam Editor does not use photo metadata to track you or determine your device's current location.

You can change Sunbeam Editor's access to your photo library at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Photos > Sunbeam Editor on your device. Limiting or revoking access may prevent photo browsing, editing, or export features from working.

Data Stored on Your Device and in Your iCloud Account

Sunbeam Editor stores app preferences and editing information, such as adjustment settings, saved versions, and custom presets, on your device. This information is used only to provide the app's features.

When iCloud is available for Sunbeam Editor, Apple may sync supported app data through CloudKit so it remains available across devices signed in to your Apple Account. Synced data is stored in your private iCloud database. It is not visible to us in the CloudKit developer portal, and we do not use it for analytics, advertising, or tracking. Sunbeam Editor does not copy your photo or video files into its CloudKit database; if you use iCloud Photos, Apple Photos may download an original from iCloud when you ask Sunbeam Editor to view or edit it.

Apple processes iCloud data under its own terms and privacy policy. You can manage iCloud and Sunbeam Editor's iCloud storage through your device's Apple Account and iCloud settings.

Apple Services

Sunbeam Editor uses Apple frameworks and services to provide certain features:

  • Photos and iCloud Photos provide access to the photo library you authorize and may retrieve items stored in iCloud.
  • CloudKit may privately sync supported Sunbeam Editor app data between your devices.
  • Apple Maps may process the coordinates already embedded in a photo when you choose to view that photo's location or place name.
  • The App Store and StoreKit process in-app purchases and restore purchase entitlements. We do not receive your payment card or full Apple Account details.

These services are operated by Apple, not by us. Apple's handling of information is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.

Feedback and Support

Sunbeam Editor does not automatically send feedback or support data. If you choose to contact us by email, we receive the information you voluntarily provide, such as your email address, message, and any attachments. We use it only to respond to your request, troubleshoot the issue, and improve Sunbeam Editor. Please do not send sensitive information that is not necessary for your request.

We retain support correspondence only for as long as reasonably necessary to address the request, maintain ordinary business records, or meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete support correspondence by emailing us at the address below, subject to any legal requirement to retain it. Voluntary support correspondence is not used for advertising or tracking and is not sold.

Retention, Deletion, and Your Choices

Because Sunbeam Editor does not collect data from the app, we do not maintain user profiles or app-usage records for you to access or delete.

  • You can revoke or limit photo-library access in iOS Settings.
  • You can remove Sunbeam Editor's locally stored app data by deleting the app. Deleting Sunbeam Editor does not delete photos or exported images saved in your Photos library or elsewhere.
  • If iCloud sync is in use, deleting the app may not automatically delete data stored in your iCloud account. You can manage that data through your device's iCloud storage settings.
  • You can request deletion of information you voluntarily sent to us for support by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

Sunbeam Editor does not knowingly collect personal data from children or from any other users. If a child or a parent or guardian sends us personal information in a support request, they may contact us to request its deletion.

Security

Sunbeam Editor minimizes privacy risk by processing photos on the device and by not operating a backend that collects app data. Locally stored and iCloud-synced information is also protected by the security controls provided by iOS and Apple services. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if Sunbeam Editor's features, data practices, or legal obligations change. We will post the updated policy at the same public URL and revise the "Last updated" date above. If a change materially affects how Sunbeam Editor handles data, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
